Subject: Help fund my family’s trip to Kenya!

Greetings All,


I'm writing to ask for your help in funding my family's upcoming trip to Kenya. I've been wanting to visit my wife's birthplace for years and couldn't afford it. My financial outlook improved after the painful and sorrowful passing of my mom a few years ago. She left me her pension in which I had planned to use some of those funds to take my family to Kenya. Before I could set plans in stone, my wife and I were hit with a forced roof replacement by our insurance company. That roof replacement went way over budget and took a huge chunk from the pension. That along with other badly needed home repairs left me in the position where I would need to charge quite a bit of the trip which with your help I'm hoping to avoid.

We plan on traveling whether we get help or not as pleasure is no longer the main reason for the trip. My mother-in-law who also lives with us is now 80 years old. We need to go to Kenya to get all of her affairs in order. She has ailments, but she is still doing well. We just want to be prepared. More prepared than I was when my mother passed. Again, not saying that she will be passing anytime soon hopefully. We just want to be prepared and have fun at the same time.

We plan to travel late June or July since my school aged kids will be off and I being a middle school teacher will be off as well. The flights will definitely be the most expensive part of our trip as lodging will be all or partially provided by our Kenyan family.

I'm asking for help with the costs of airfare which when recently searched costs between $1800 and $2300 each. This times the five of us comes out to roughly $10,000. Whatever we raise here will go towards that and any other expenses we may be faced with during our trip. The amounts listed in the expenses section are approximated.
