My Travel Story

by: Vera Casaus-Padilla Start Date: Nov 15, 2017 - End Date: Jan 28, 2018
I want to study abroad to experience and encounter culture apart from my own. I have been learning the Arabic language for a little over a year now, and I have not gotten the chance to expand my knowledge of the Arab World to its fullest. I believe education abroad will provide me the opportunity to go above and beyond. To learn and absorb the everyday life of the not only the community on campus,  but within the city of Rabat and the country of Morocco. This program is not only important to me for my future career goals in International Studies, but more importantly for my physical, mental, and spiritual growth as a global citizen. I believe a global citizen to be someone who is educated and engaged with what goes on around them locally and globally. Someone who will indulge in cultural forms. The major benefit I expect from this experience is to be more globally mindful of cultures such as those of the Arab World. I hope to build those connections with people who will benefit my experience as well as their own while studying abroad. I chose Rabat, Morocco as my study abroad destination solely because my area of focus is the Mid-East. I want to work for the United Nations in the future and I believe experience such as studying abroad, is beneficial for my qualifications as an applicant.  EGE Rabat will be the most suitable university for me because I can take classes centered around my International major as well as improve and learn colloquial Arabic.

Your help is much appreciated.
God Bless!!
