I have been lucky enough to gain a place on the International Service Team (IST) of the UK Contingent for the 25th World Scout Jamboree in South Korea in July/August 2023.  The role of the IST is to ensure the health, safety and well being of participants. And to encourage participation in activities to promote working together, sharing of cultures and understanding the needs of others, and everything else in between.  This global event welcomes around 40,000 scouts in the age range 14-17 from around the globe regardless of background, be that financial, religious, gender etc.  the Scouting movement is all about education, activity, understanding and leadership teachings and support of young people. Some of the worlds future leaders could be present and in the making.  
As part of the IST I will play a role in making this event the best possible experience for those youngsters. The exact details of my roles is yet to be decided, it could be working with the youngsters on activities or it could be cleaning the loo's, each and every role is important to make the event special even the less glamorous roles.  So please dig deep and help me get there.

  • Ben Nevis Hike

    Hi everyone, just a little update. I will be travelling to Fort William (UK) today ready to take on the challange that is climbing Ben Nevis with my daughter Darryl Andrew. I am reasonably fit but not a huge walking up big hills fan. This will be tough. Standing 1,345 mtrs tall (the mountain, not me) and an average walking time of 7-9 hours, I will truely deserve a pint if I get back safely!
    This is one of my challenges with the hope of earning your pitty but more importantly your cash. If you think it a worthy challenge please help with my fundraising for my volunteering work at the World Scout Jamboree next year, please donate, however small it all counts, thanks Viv.     My gym held a summer BBQ last weekend, I made and sold cupcakes and sweet cones. I donated the items myself and raised £265.
