My Travel Story
Through this tour, I will make a difference in the community by sharing the rich cultural heritage and musical excellence of our choir with international audiences. By representing our country on a global stage, I aim to inspire young musicians back home and demonstrate the possibilities that dedication to music can bring. Additionally, the connections and collaborations we establish will foster cultural exchange, creating a bridge between communities and enhancing mutual understanding through the universal language of music.
I am passionate about this project because music is my lifeline; it is what fuels my passion and adds vibrancy to my life. Moreover, singing and music has such immense healing properties. It mends the broken parts of people that get hidden away and it brings warmth to those suffering silently. Being part of this choir has allowed me the honour to be part of a personal healing journey as well as the start of a healing process for others. Being part of this choir allows us to form deeper connections with each other and experience each other’s inner most beings. Through music we share our life experiences, and we gather the moments we want to cherish the most. Singing in this choir is a once in a lifetime opportunity to be part of something extraordinary and to express myself creatively, connect with others on a profound level, and share the joy of music with audiences. This tour represents the culmination of our spirit, interconnectedness, heart and dedication, and I am excited to contribute to a project that celebrates music’s power to unite and inspire people from all walks of life.
We are headed to the USA for this tour because we were honoured to be invited as the headline choir for the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) conference. This prestigious invitation is a testament to our choir's excellence and dedication, providing us with an unparalleled platform to showcase our talents on an international stage. The ACDA conference attracts some of the world's finest choirs and musicians, offering us a unique opportunity to learn from, collaborate with, and inspire fellow choral enthusiasts. Additionally, the USA's vibrant cultural cities and iconic performance venues make it an ideal destination for our choir to gain exposure and experience, further enriching our musical journey.
This tour is meaningful to me because it represents a milestone in my musical journey. I’ve been singing chorally since I was 8 years old, and it has been a passion of mine ever since. This tour is meaningful to me because music has made me who I am today. I found myself through the pursuit of music and I’ve been able to channel my inner self through. This tour is more meaningful to me because it keeps alive the beauty of the relationship, I have with my late father with whom I shared the love of music.
It is also an opportunity to perform on an international stage, to learn from and be inspired by new experiences, and to share the beauty of our music with diverse audiences. Moreover, it allows me to honour and contribute to the legacy of our choir, which has been a cornerstone of my growth as a musician. The memories and lessons from this tour will stay with me forever, enriching my life both personally and professionally.
