There is a strong demand for communication skills in the world as the concept of the global village sinks in and geography gradually becomes history. People from different cultures and backgrounds are meeting to work, do business and learn. Given this background China is one of the best strategic places to do study communication. With a population of 1.4 billion it is one of the most populous country in the world. It has also become one of the world economic powers with social, political and economic influence all over. Its long history and exciting culture contribute to the studies. Besides studying and living in China is comparatively cheaper than other countries and quality of education is also competitive due to a lot of of investment in higher education. Combining this context with my career goal to be a specialist and mentor in communication it will definitely be a positive and long lasting learning experience to study in the country. The skills I will get will be useful in business and for solving social, development and political challenges facing the world. It will also make me a resource person on communication issues with one of the emerging powers of the world.
