Hey everyone!

I'm setting up this campaign to aid me in raising money for my trip to India on the 17th June 2018 with SLV Global. SLV Global is an organisation set up by Psychology graduates to create the perfect volunteering and placement opportunities for Psychology students. In India, I will take part in a Clinical and Ancient Psychology program, which will provide me with unique and unparalleled insight into global mental health treatment.

During the first week, I will spend a few days at the School of Ancient Wisdom where i will take part in interactive, practical workshops on topics like Ancient Yoga for Mental Health, Mindfulness, Laughing Yoga and Self-Actualisation Chakra Meditation. This will allow me to explore traditional methods and gain insight into how they can promote positive mental health and wellbeing.

During the second half of this week, I will be situated in the National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences. NIMHANS is the largest government run centre for the treatment of mental health issues in India, and has numerous facilities to help with learning such as the Neuropathology Brain Museum. During my stay here, I will partake in seminars, lectures and Q&A sessions with specialist local clinicians and have an audience with some of the most prominent clinical psychologists, psychiatrists and neuroscientists in India.

The aim of the second week will be to get better acquainted with the complex country the previous week has taught me about. During these travels, I can provide context to my learning. I will travel through Mysore, Ooty, Munnar, Cochin and Alleppy, climbing mountains, visiting planations and beaches and hopefully, finding myself! That's what India is all about, right?

Taking part in this program will give me a better chance at pursuing my dream of becoming a clinical psychologist. After I have completed this trip, I hope to be accepted onto a masters program in Clincal Psychology and will be able to apply my knowledge and experience from this lifechanging trip.

I am so passionate about this project because I have a keen interest in mental health and ways to treat this. I feel as if this program will open my eyes to the possiblities of ensuring those with mental health problems can live their best life. Not only this, I feel so privelidged to have the chance to immerse myself within another culture, learn about their customs and way of life and hopefully make some memories that will last a life time.

The cost of this trip will be approximately £1550
Cost of program - £950
Flights - £500
Visa - £100

I'm hoping to get some funding off my unversity for this, but the rest I need to raise myself. If anyone has any creative ideas that I could use to fundraise I would be extremely grateful and I'm all ears.

Thank you so much for reading.
