Fundraising for children and women in, KENIA
My Travel Story
For many of these children, school represents a safe haven away from the streets where they often reside. Here, they have the chance to play, learn, and receive at least one meal a day, as for some, the school lunch is their only source of daily food.
Our main goal is to raise funds to help the schools acquire educational materials, toys, and especially clothing. Many of the children lack adequate clothing, and often the clothes they wear are all they have, even if they are worn out or inappropriate for the season.
In addition to supporting the school, part of the funds will be allocated to two important projects in which we participate weekly:
Medical outreach: We organize medical visits to nearby villages, where we provide healthcare to children, the elderly, and families who lack access to basic medical care. We distribute medicines and treat ailments and injuries that have been neglected for a long time.
Women's outreach: We visit households led by single mothers or grandmothers, many of whom are destitute or widowed, and who have children under their care, some of whom may have health problems or disabilities. With a donation of $20, we can provide essential food for a family for a month.
This food package includes rice, zucchini, corn flour, beans, cooking oil, soap, detergent, candles, matches, tea, and pasta, basic items that can make a big difference in the lives of these needy families.
