My Travel Story

Dear everybody,

My name is Jesse and I am currently 23 years old. I am on this platform to try and fund my volunteering trip to the Galapagos Islands.

This trip was planned for april 2020 but due to the COVID crisis it was canceled. I was able to contact the foundation where I was volunteering and they happily allowed me to change the dates of my visit. The flight company however wasn't as mild. Since I am from Belgium the flight tickets are rather expensive. The company where I had booked my flight (the name will remain disclosed for privacy purposes) told me that they weren't able to refund me the money. This has lead to a loss of €3473.65 on my part, which is an immens amount of money for a student in his 5th year of university.

The reason I am going on this trip is to expand my education on animals with my ultimate dream of becoming an exotic animal veterinarian. The Galapagos Islands are the Islands where Charles Darwin found the first signs of evolution making them the ground zero of a lot of a theories and information we use today. Being able to go on this trip would be life changing and would make me the happiest person to have ever have lifed.

Unfortunately I am not able to buy another set of plane tickets due to my loss of the previous ones. This is why I have a cry for help on this magnificent forum and I ask for a way to fund my travels.

If you would even only consider just funding €1 it would make me extremely gratefull.  I would like to thank all of you in advance even for just taking gyour time to read my story.
