My Travel Story

Hello, my name is Lucas and I am a PhD student in geography from Argentina. In recent years I have become interested in studying Antarctic spaces, more specifically the controversies surrounding the Antarctic Peninsula. In addition to this professional aspect, I am also passionate about adventure activities such as trekking, mainly in mountainous areas, which I do with my family (partner and young son).

My interest on this occasion is to combine these two aspects of my life: my object of study (the Antarctic spaces) and the activities I do on vacation with my family.

A quick search reveals that a regular trip to Antarctica from Ushuaia (Argentina) costs approximately 10,000 dollars per person. Added together, my family and I would need 30,000 dollars to cover this project, an amount that is absolutely beyond our budget. For this reason, I am here to request donations that will allow us to reach or get as close as possible to that amount and thus be able to access this trip for the next summer in the southern hemisphere (December 2025 to March 2026).
