Hey everyone!!

As you may know, I was one of twelve applicants accepted for a two week Communication Sciences and Disorders Study Abroad Program in Belize. The dates will be July 24-August 5 this summer!!

I major in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology at the University of Texas at Dallas. Since UTD is a Top 10 school for Speech-Language Pathology, this study abroad program would separate me greatly from the many other grad school applicants.

In this educational study abroad program, I’ll have the opportunity to work with certified Speech Language Pathologists. I will gain hands-on experience and have the chance to help children (and their families!) with their communication disorders. This is right up my alley because my main professional goals are working early intervention with kids and encouraging family involvement!!

In addition to the educational aspect, there are adventures included in the tuition, such as a Mayan archaeological site tour, cave tubing, snorkeling, and zip-lining through the jungle! We'll also have additional time to immerse ourselves in the culture as much as possible. I will gain so much from the intercultural exchange and global awareness that comes along with this opportunity! This experience would follow me through my entire career as I work with children of many cultural backgrounds!

If you can help me out through donating or sharing with friends please know how much I appreciate your support in this journey.
I have already paid $2,500 from my own savings and previous donations, but still need an additional $2,000 for the last of the tuition and my flight. If you have any additional questions ask away!! Thank you!
