I am a first-generation, female, queer college graduate and secondary degree candidate of Haitain and Jamaican descent. My hope is to finish and receive my MBA degree to further my earning power and career potential as I take care of my older parents and young sibling. I attend class part time and work a full time job.  I came out of the closet and have had a wonderful and supportive partner since 2018. I am the only child in my family born with American citizenship status and have known and felt the privilege of that status amongst moments of unstable immigration policy and unrest. I was met with love and support during my coming out journey.

As someone who is often reminded of how society talks down, ridicules, or even bullies their demographic, I am grateful to have a perspective that allows me to take note of my privileges and see things through a silver lining. I am grateful for this opportunity and need financially assistance in acheieving a life long dream. This study abroad course will be a chance for me to travel abroad to London for the first time ever, expand my network and learn about a new culture, while earning credit towards my professional degree.
