One of the most amazing places in the world is a tiny village in very remote Romania. There's an orphanage there where I have volunteered before and it is so humbling. Unfortunately I couldn't afford it last year and it looks as though it may be the same this year, but I'm hoping you can change that! I felt devestated when I had to let the children down last year, they are like family and spend the year looking forward to summer school. Most of the summer school visitors are special needs young people from local orphanages or the hospitals, there is an astounding number of children abandoned every year. There is no running water there and many find it hard to access sanitary products. To be treated so lovingly is rare for them and they have such a wonderful time playing games and sharing snacks, it reminds you of the most important things in life.
I hope to be able to raise funds to not only volunteer again but take over as many toys and necessities as possible. This would include clothing, soap, toys, art supplies, hats, sunglasses, shoes, school supplies and food among much more.
