My name is Kyah Robinson. I am a 14 year old freshman in high school and I am very intrested in traveling, helping others, and understanding different cultures. Recently, I have been trying to find an organization that sends young adults abroad. That's when I ran into GLA (Global Leadership Adventures). GLA can send me to Africa over the summer where I can work with local leaders and schools and also travel within the country. Needless to say, it is very hard to find a program that sends young adults alone without a parent or guardian, but this program will in fact take me to Tanzania, Africa with other people my age with the same interests. I will spend 14 days over the summer to help kids in orphanages, learn their culture and diversity, visit real wild life safaris, travel to Mt. Kilimanjaro, and partake in many more adventerous activities. I am very thankful that GLA can give me the opportunity to visit Africa, but unfortunalty the tuition is beyond my capability to afford. With airfare, other travel expenses, immunizations, and the cost of the program, I am going to need all the help I can get to fund my trip. My goal is to raise $6,000, and this experience truly means the world to me. My mother was lucky enough to study abroad when she was in college and she tells me all the time how this kind of experience changes your life and makes you so much better as a person. I want to have this experience now while I am young so I can truly learn to understand and appreciate the world around me, which I truly believe can be achieved by traveling to Africa. I also want to bring back to the United States what I learn abroad. We all know that there are a lot of unfortunate people who live there, my hopes are that I can spread more awareness to others after seeing life from a completely different perspective . So, thank you so much for reading this. It would really mean everything to me if I could get your help to raise the money to go to Africa.
