The Great Travel Writers Exchange: Tbex
My Travel Story
This year will be my first opportunity to participate and given that Cancun is not terribly far from my home base I'm doing my best to make it happen.
Since 2012 I have been sharing my experiences as an archaeologist gone travel writer. From Cairo to Istanbul, Los Angeles to Austin highlighting historical and cutural aspects of our world with the aim of revealing the genuine qualities of communities that have been misrepresented by mass media.
By attending Tbex this year I will be given the opportunity to have hands-on in the field training with excursions and one-on-one networking. This could be just what I need to propel myself from a hobbyist to a professional travel writer.
The fact that "in the field" this time around means navigating Maya ruins and interacting with the beautiful people of southern Mexico has me excited all the more!
After Tbex I will head to Chiapas, Mexico to spend a week with the modern day Maya. With the aim of publishing several articles on the culture, cuisine, and lifestyle of some of our worlds most incredible people.
Thank you for taking the time to read my campaign,
Nicholas Andriani
