My Travel Story

Hi, my name is Joana, and I’m fundraising to support a two-month voluntary mission trip to São Tomé. This project is deeply personal and meaningful to me, and I’d love to share why.

Since I was young, I’ve felt a deep calling to serve others. That’s why I’ve chosen a part-time job: so I can dedicate the rest of my time to voluntary work that has real impact.
I live with my single mother, and I want to support my family as much as I want to support others—this trip allows me to do both.

How It Impacts My Education & Future
This experience will be a stepping stone toward my long-term goal: to dedicate my career and life to humanitarian service. Being on the ground, helping real communities, will give me practical skills, cultural awareness, and a deeper understanding of global needs.

How I’ll Make a Difference
In São Tomé, I’ll be working directly with local communities supporting education for children and families. I’ll be serving, learning, and building relationships with people whose strength inspires me. I’ll also be bringing back what I learn to my own community, encouraging others to serve and give.

Why I Chose São Tomé
São Tomé is a beautiful island with a rich culture and incredible people—but also great needs. I believe that serving in a place like this, where support is needed and welcomed, is exactly where I’m meant to be.

What Makes This Meaningful
For me, this isn’t just a trip. It’s a dream, a mission, and an act of love. It represents my heart for service, my desire to grow, and my commitment to doing something bigger than myself. Every euro donated will go directly toward making this possible—covering basic travel, housing, and food during my stay.
