My Travel Story

In this project, I aim to contribute to Israeli society by teaching English to young Israelis and act as a role model for them. I would like the youth to understand and be able to communicate in English while I build a relationship with them throughout the year of service. 

My other goals are to enroll in a long-term volunteer program, strengthen my connection to Israel, reflect on my Jewish identity, and gain (my own) first-hand, unfiltered insight into Israeli society.

Once I return, I plan on sharing my experience with members of my youth movement, Maccabi Tzair Miami. Throughout grades 1-10. To each group I will explain what I did in Israel and what I derived from my different experiences through presentations and educational activities. In the presentation or activity, I will show how I taught youth at risk to learn english and the knowledge and satisfying experiences I gained while living in Israel.
