Hello Everyone!

As many of you know, helping others is something that brings me joy and fulfilment. I believe that helping others is a fundemental aspect to the way we should live our lives.
Therefore, I am excited to announce that for 2 weeks in August, I will be leaving home alone to volunteer in Peru, where I will help to look after children in Peru during their summer holidays and also aid in a women's refuge. I will be undergoing this journey with VHQ, an International volunteer organisation, alongside fellow volunteers.
I have chosen to volunteer in Peru as currently lam a student in my first year of A levels, where one of my subjects is Spanish. From this I have learnt that many Hispanic countries struggle with accomodating to childcare, due to lack of funding or facilities. By going to Peru I will not only be able to enrich my knowledge on Hispanic culture, but give back and help the people.
As a volunteer I will be:

  • Helping with play time
  • Supervising children
  • Preparing early childhood education materials and teaching simple lessons
  • Cleaning and other tasks to help with the day to day running of the placement
  • Plan simple classes and educational activities for the children
  • Be a positive role models for the children and help to teach them simple manners
Due to it being the summer holidays I am also priviledged enough to help women and their children in a women's refuge.
I am very excited to embark on this journey, however I can not do it alone. I will be using the money I have earnt from my job, but as a 17 year old I can not earn the full amount on my own. By donating you are experiencing this journey with me and helping me help others.
