Imagine needing stitches… and being told there are none.
No sutures. No gloves. No local anaesthetic. No dressings.

Not because it’s a rare situation… but because the clinic simply doesn’t have them.

For many rural communities in Tanzania, this is everyday reality.

This June, I’m travelling to Tanzania to volunteer in medical outreach programs, working alongside local healthcare teams in clinics where resources are extremely limited. I’ll be helping wherever I’m needed, but I don’t want to stand there knowing care could be better if only the basics were available.

That’s the part that doesn’t sit right with me.

Through preparing for this trip, I’ve learned that many clinics don’t have consistent access to essential supplies. Things we take for granted — gloves, sutures, dressings, basic wound care — can mean the difference between safe treatment and preventable complications.

So I’m doing something about it.

I’m raising funds to purchase medical supplies, and I’ll be buying them while I’m over there with guidance from the local hospital teams. This means every dollar goes directly to what’s actually needed, in that moment, for real patients.

Important note:
All donations will go directly towards purchasing medical supplies for the clinics and outreach programs. None of the funds will be used to pay for my flights, accommodation, or personal travel costs. This fundraiser is solely to support patient care and provide essential medical resource

I’m still at the very beginning of my nursing career, but I already know I’m drawn to this kind of work. Challenging environments, limited resources, thinking on your feet, doing everything you can with what you have. To be able to contribute to something like this so early on honestly means a lot to me.

Even the smallest amount can have a real impact.
The price of a coffee could mean sterile gloves for multiple patients, sutures for a procedure, or proper wound care for someone who might otherwise go without.
