My Travel Story

As a hard working family, we rarely take vacation trips. In fact we haven't taken a family vacation in many years. We have gone to visit family but working while there combining work and quality time. I don't remember the last time we took a family vacation with no work. My husband works two jobs, my daughter and I are both physically diagnosed but do everything we can to contribute. The last couple years we have had horrendous medical issues and three major surgeries. Between all wor and no play, and medical stress we are in desperate need of some time away. The medical issues though have created a major drain on our resources and basically wiped out our savings and emergency fund. We are trying to slowly rebuild the emergency fund but we will be in debt for some of the medical bills for a few years to come. Sometimes you go along living your life and all of the sudden you get blindsided by circumstances. That is what happened to us. Hopefully we will be able to go on this trip, spend time playing board games, reading books, and laughing together, while soaking up some much needed downtime.
