My Travel Story

Greetings to you. My name is Lindani N. Mathe from KZN, South Africa and this is my mission

To give you some backstory of what motivated me into making these trips into a reality, I was caught up in a situation that almost killed me. I was shot once in the upper right torso of my body by some local criminals that were on a crime spree in the same area of where I was staying at the time (Yeoville, Johannesburg) but luckily, the bullet went right through. My recovery from the whole incident was definitely not easy at all but I was and still am very lucky/fortunate to know that I did not have to heal all by myself.

Let me tell you lololol although I'll never stop appreciating the nurses, physio therapists and various psychologists that have played crucial roles in keeping me alive, my entire family became the absolute greatest support system I never thought I needed at the time and BOYYYYYY did theyyy come through in their numbers day by damn day while I was in the hospital.

After spending roughly 2 weeks in trauma ICU, I made it maditory to not only live hard, but to love even harder and for me, it starts and ends with giving back to those that did their absolute best to show that I meant something to them, especially my family and that is why I wanted to make these trips happen, for myself and in gratitute to the people in my life that left an impact in me and for always being there for me even when I was on the brink of death itself, much like the people in which you see in the group photo which consists of me, my mom, my aunt, my cousin, my late uncle and my granny graaaaaaaan c:.

I'm usually not the type to beg at all, but this was something that I've been wanting to do for these people ever since I got out of the hospital in July but unfortunately, I'm currently unemployed while jobseeking after quitting my job a few weeks ago. If you're interested and happy to, all I ask is for you to please assist me with some funding in order for me to spoil and thank my family for everything that they've sacrifised and done for me to still be alive today as this is also a great opportunity for me to bond with my grandma while she still has life in her. And don't worry, even if you don't wish to donate, then that's also fine and I'll respect it cause after all lolol I'm not the type to guilt-trip :).
