My Travel Story

I've wanted to go to Northern Ireland since I was 13 (now I'm an adult) because of one special person. A guy I've never met in person but have known deeply for more than 7 years.

Our story began when we were both silly teenagers looking for someone to talk to randomly on the internet, we "clicked" instantly. Fast forward a few years, we're practically glued to our phones; it became an escape, a safe space where we could talk about our days, joys, worries, insecurities, sadness... anything. It allowed us to feel listened, understood, vulnerable (something we both mostly supress because how we were raised).

That level of closeness made me fall in love with him and be brave enough to tell him I love him, which he reciprocated. It felt perfect for a while, but distance became so painful that it made us decide to breakup and wait until the day we meet to give it a clean shot.

Even after all this years, we both still feel the same and long for the day we'll be able to meet in person; imagining, dreaming, planing... but still can't financially afford such expenses (there have been some attempts, but they were in vain because of other life circumstances out of our control).

I have chosen this "deadline" because I would like to surprise him either during his birthday or at his siblings wedding (to which we've made imaginary plans, like we usually do).
