I am fortunate enough to have been born in the United States where for the most part we all kind of blend together. As grateful as I am for the many different experiences that college has brought me, I want to see 'the real world'.
My dream is to travel the world, but not simply to say that I have been here or there but to truly understand a culture, a people, a nation other than my own. Semester at Sea (http://www.semesteratsea.org) presents me with the opportunity of a lifetime. I will be on a boat with 500 other students, taking classes for 3 months. We will be touring 11 Countries, 13 Cities, 4 Continents, and to be completely honest I am terrified. I have never been outside of South Carolina so this is a big step, but one that will give my life so much meaning.
I hope to make this dream a reality in the Spring or Fall of 2018 and I have started working two part-time jobs in the hopes of saving up for this trip but I cannot do it alone.
