My Journey to South Korea: Fulfilling a Lifelong Dream and Honoring My Late Sister's Memory

My name is Rasmus, and as a South Korean adoptee, I've always felt a sense of longing to connect with my birthplace and my cultural heritage. For years, I've been dreaming of visiting South Korea, but financial constraints and other circumstances have prevented me from doing so.

But the dream of visiting South Korea isn't just about me. It's also about fulfilling a promise I made to my late sister, a fellow South Korean adoptee who never got the chance to visit our homeland before she passed away at the age of 42. As I plan my journey to South Korea, I'm reminded of her and the unfulfilled dreams we shared.

It's a personal and emotional journey for me, too. As an adoptee, I've faced many challenges in terms of identity and belonging, which have taken a toll on my mental health. I want to use this trip to South Korea as an opportunity to start healing and finding answers to the questions I've carried for so long.

However, I can't do it alone. As an unemployed individual, I need your support to raise $5000 to make this trip a reality. With your donation, I will be able to explore my hometown of Seoul and visit my sister's birthplace, where I will place a memorabilia in her memory.

But my sister's passing had a greater impact than just a lost dream. She left behind a husband and a 5-year-old daughter who will never know the joy of sharing this experience with her. For me, this journey is also about honoring her memory and being the ambassador of the experience she never got to have.
