My Travel Story

Hello everyone,

My name is Hugo and I'm an English teacher, a poet and a writer. 

I'm creating this campaign because I need help - it's even hard for me to state the word "help" because I've always believed I never needed anybody's help but this time is quite different.

As you may be aware, the pandemic is here, and I've been in lockdown since December 2020 and I'm just losing my mind. Unfortunately, I've been forced to be locked up as many others in a toxic, mentally and emotionally abusive household.  My best bet is to travel far, and I want to go as a volunteer so I can sign up to Workaway.com or Volunteering.nl - platforms that help people find volunteer positions - so I can easily go to the Netherlands.

Why the Netherlands? The Netherlands is a  growing economy, always looking for highly skilled workers and has an amazing educational system. Not only, will I perfect the national language, but I'll also try to find as many educational and employment as well as to become part of a new community.
