My Travel Story

Hi, my name is Jorden, and I’m reaching out during the most painful time of my life. Just recently, my world came crashing down when I learned that my  mother has been diagnosed with stage 4 liver cancer. In the beginning, doctors believed her treatment would be simple, but now, it’s painfully clear that her cancer is aggressive, and the future looks grim. They've given her only about six months to live.

This news weighs heavily on my heart, especially as it means this Christmas could be her last, and it breaks my soul to admit that I haven't seen her in over two long years. After the chaos of COVID turned my life upside down and forced me back to Wisconsin to find my footing again, I was desperately trying to rebuild my life, never ready for such heartbreaking news.

My daughter and I dream of making the journey to spend Christmas with my mom and if possible celebrate her birthday in early January, before life turns even more difficult. The thought of not being by her side during what might be our final holidays together is unbearable.

I’m reaching out with an open heart, asking for your help to cover the travel expenses for my daughter and me to visit my mother. Thankfully, we won’t need to book accommodations, as we have many friends and family offering us places to stay during our trip. What we need most is the chance to create cherished memories with her and surround her with the love and support she so deeply deserves in these precious final months.
