Hi, friends! I have qualified for a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for a marine internship in Hawaii this summer! This is truly a dream come true for me! Visiting Hawaii has been a dream of mine for as long as I can remember and now I’ll have the opportunity to LIVE there for 2 months. I plan on working my butt off between now and then to save up as much money as possible for this trip, but it will be a large cost for travel and other expenses during that time.

The ocean is my happy place and ocean conservation is my passion! I have already completed 2 years of college working toward my BS in Marine Science. I’ve been SCUBA diving for years and recently got my Rescue Diver and Specialty Shark Conservation Diver certifications. I’m also a land animal lover! This is evident by my volunteering at Clearwater Animal Hospital, the Humane Society, working at a pet store, and my current job where I work at a pet hospital.

I believe this opportunity will open doors for me professionally since I will gain so much more focused and hands-on experience in the Marine Conservation field. Additionally, I know I will learn so much more about myself, meet more awesome people and, of course, explore beautiful Hawaii, all while working toward my ultimate life goal of saving and protecting marine life!
