My Travel Story

Hello! Do you remember when you were young and you got sick for some reason, who took care of you, mom and dad, right? When you were out playing around in the yard with a younger sibling and the sibling got hurt in some type of way, what did you do, reassure them that they would be ok, you'll take care of them! Well, when you get older, that doesn't change. My mother was recently diagnosed with stage four lung cancer, very aggresive and spreading rapidly! My brother is an epileptic and has several other health issues. He has to have monthly treatments to try and keep his immune system stable, currently he's now faced with something that we have yet to get figured out. It's causing him to lose a lot of weight and because of his epilepsy his mindset doesn't match his age! Mom took care of my brother and now that she's down with cancer, she's not able to do that, so what does big sis do? She steps up to the plate and now I do my best to take care of both! My dad had a stroke years back so he's not able to do very much physically, but he does anything and everything that he can for his family, like always! You only get one set of parents and when they have worked so hard to take care of  you when you were young, and still do even when you're grown, when they need help, you do everything you can how you can without thinking twice about it. I have to take my mom and my brother to doctors, for treatments, test, and follow ups. I'm going back and forth pretty much every day, I'm on the road! I live in Texas, but I've been in Oklahoma, with them, at the time I'm writing this, almost a month now. I have a son that's a Senior in Highschool, plays football. I want to be able to watch him play all his home games. The drive is five and a half hours away, one way, but I will make it to see my son play because this is his last year!! The feeling that you get to see and realize that your child has made it, worked hard, and graduated is priceless, but you have to take care of mom and brother cause you love your brother and will do what you can, and without mom you wouldn't have your son!! My boyfriend is taking care of our son, but now all the weight is on him because I'm gone! I'm litteraly running three households! My mom and dad's, my brothers, and continuing to do my part in mine. When you have to sacrifice some things for the ones you love, no matter what it is, you have no regrets!!!! So, any one that would like to help with making this situation a little less overwhelming, anything and everything will be greatly appreciated!!!

  • SHE CLAIMED HER VICTORY!!!

    Hello Facebook! Well, the LORD saw fit to call my beautiful mother home this morning! Words can not even express how much I'm going to miss that woman!!! She fought her best and was doing very well, but GOD wanted her home today! I'm so very grateful for him allowing me to borrow her for 42 years. He definitely assigned me a great one!! I have a lot of wonderful memories and I know she will always be with us! Life has many chapters and this is definitely one of the chapters that's the hardest!!!

  • STILLL FIGHTING!!!

    Hello Facebook! I just wanted to give everyone a quick update. Mom is doing well, still fighting. We received some good news on Wednesday. The cancer is shrinking!! The radiologist said that people usually don't see the type of results that mom is having until after completion of all the treatments. She still has her good days and bad ones, but she seems to have a little bit more pep in her step at times. She goes for treatment number seven today. She is a very strong woman and has no give up in her!! That's where I get mine from, both my parents actually! My brother is starting to face more issues! He's very tired and fatigued most of the time, it doesn't take much. He's very strong, mentally, and also has no give up in him!!! He has overcome a lot of issues in the past and he will do the same with the current ones. My dad is hanging in there helping me the best he can with both of them and is an awesome emotional support for both. I'M SO GRATEFUL for all the prayers, financial assistance, and emotional support from everybody!! I just ask for continued prayer!!! We will keep fighting! VICTORY IN SIGHT!!!!
