My Travel Story

As a psychology student, I witness daily how mental health is underestimated and the little awareness people have about this fact. As a future professional, I would like to go beyond my duties as a therapist. This volunteer experience assisting in the field of mental health in Sri Lanka during a whole month will not only serve me to help others with what I am passionate about and to develop professionally, but also to broaden my understanding of this beatiful career and what it can do for people. Seeing how it is addressed in such a different cultural and social environment from mine is something that every future professional should experience to fully understand their profession and what can be achieved.
Please, help me to be able to live this unmatched experience. I truly want to have the opportunity to learn about their lifestyle and how it affects people, as well as to feel that the profession I love is useful beyond consumerism, that the knowledge I have been acquiring can be used to help anyone in need.
