My Travel Story

Ever since I was a little kid, I've had a deep sense of wanderlust and curiosity. It has pushed me to pursue the best academic experience I could have as a first generation student. Ultimately, my sights are set on experiencing academia, and the world, to the fullest extent I am able. This Fall, I will be studying abroad in Perugia, Italy--a destination steeped in art, culture, and history that I have always wished to experience. 


Why would I want to study abroad? Beyond the obvious excitement at the opportunity to travel, study abroad provides valuable skills such as cultural awareness and open-mindedness required to succeed both personally and professionally.

  • General Updates

    First and foremost, I'd like to thank my aunt Claudia and uncle Ted for being the first donors to this campaign. Their contribution is greatly appreciated and I am overjoyed at the support from my family. You two are incredible!

    It also appears that the job search may be coming to a close--we'll have to see how my interview goes tomorrow! Updates to come!

    The Paintings
    If you looked through the "Donor Rewards," you likely saw that I am giving out a select number of watercolor paintings for donors who contribute $25, $50, or $100 to my campaign. For those of you who don't already know, I have been watercolor painting for a few years (previously for classes and now for enjoyment) and specialize in multilayered, abstract pieces.

    At left, you can see one of my favorite pieces. Like many of my pieces, it was made using watercolor, ink, and a fun layering technique I've been trying to perfect since high school. I put my heart into my pieces and I hope that being in Perugia I'll find myself painting even more as I take in the history and culture!
