Empowering Vicky: A Story of Resilience and Determination
My Travel Story
At the age of 16, she got married, gave birth, and at 29 she gave birth to her second child - all this time she worked and supported her family. At 43, she persuaded her family to immigrate to another country and started a new life there.
She decided to go to university for the first time in her life - there was no other opportunity - children, work. Vicky chose the specialty of clinical psychologist - and hit the mark, it is her calling. Studying was not easy: a foreign language, paid education, family, and hard work.
A year before the end of her studies at the university, she left her husband after severe abuse - she had been married to an abuser for 30 years and finally managed to leave. After a severe trauma, being in a terrible psychological state, she found the strength to move to a rental apartment with her teenage son. She had to repeat a year at the university - she couldn't absorb new material because she had to work a lot to support herself and her son, pay for education.
But she did it!She got the coveted diploma.
Now Vicky works as a psychologist in a foundation and has already helped more than 800 people: support groups for teenagers, for women, individual sessions.
But five years of education are not enough for her profession, and she entered the School of Psychotherapy, she also has to undergo supervision and therapy. All this is paid. That's why I'm asking for your help in this matter! The training costs $4050,53 per year (16 000 polish zloty), and she needs to study for 3,5 years.
Vicky is already 52 now, but she is determined. I work with her, and every day I see how people thank her after sessions, how teenagers start to smile after a couple of group sessions, how they open up.
Vicky is now at home with a cast due to torn ligaments and a dislocated leg. She is concerned about her ability to work and earn money for her education. . This prompted me to turn to you and tell her story - the story of a strong woman who is going towards her dream even at 52, smiling and remaining incredibly empathetic!
Join us in helping Vicky achieve her dreams. Your contribution can make a difference in her life and her story can inspire others to never give up, no matter what happens!
