Hi, we are Reto and Alea Hinz, 13-year-old twins from Cape Town. We’ve been selected to join the South African Contingent to participate in the 26th World Scout Jamboree in Poland in 2027. This is once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for us to join thousands of Scouts from all over the world in a global celebration of friendship, adventure, and cultural exchange.

We both absolutely love scouting and it has become a huge part of our lives. It has given us the chance to learn new skills, try exciting challenges, and be part of something bigger than ourselves. Every week we get to push ourselves, work as a team, and discover what we’re capable of.  Being chosen, gives us the opportunity to take those lessons to a world stage!

Why We’re Fundraising:
The cost of attending the Jamboree is R70,000 each, that’s R140,000 for both of us. This equates to just over $ 8000 for both of us together. This covers:

- Travel to and from Poland (+ within the country with the South African team
- Kit and equipment
- Event and camp fees

This isn’t just a trip, it’s a journey that will push us out of our comfort zones, grow our confidence and help build our leadership skills. When we return, we’ll bring back new experiences and skills to share with our troop and our community.

Important Dates

• Our first partial payment is due by end November 2025.
• The final payment is due by September 2026.
That means we’ll be working hard over the next year and beyond withfundraising events, community projects, and lots of bake sales (our giant choc chip cookies are legendary)!
