My Travel Story

Hello compassionate supporters from around my world! My name is Tej, a 2024 graduate from Rutgers University that wants to empower the young minds of world one country at a time. I’ve recently been given an incredible opportunity to volunteer in Ghana, where I will be teaching English to children eager to learn and grow. It’s an honor to be a part of this mission, and I’m reaching out to you for help in making it possible. I have had the opportunity to serve underprivildged communites in USA and India, and want to take my assistance to other countries.

I will be working with the international volunteer HQ organization which has helped me identify volunteer sites all across the world. I am reaching out to my friends, family, supporters, and colleagues because to make these projects of volunteerism possible, I need some financial assistance. I want you all to know that I have spent the last year 4 years of college saving up for this adventure, but there is a cost to working with the international volunteer HQ organization that I need support in covering.

Why Ghana?
Ghana is a vibrant and diverse country known for its friendly communities and rich cultural heritage. However, access to quality education—especially in remote areas—remains a real challenge. I’ve been connected with a local school dedicated to improving literacy rates and empowering children through language skills. By teaching English, I hope to give these students a stronger educational foundation and open the door to more opportunities in their future.

My Journey
Teaching has always been my passion, and I’ve volunteered with various youth programs in my community. When I learned about the critical need for English teachers in Ghana, I knew this was the chance to combine my love of travel, education, and service to truly make a difference. Beyond the classroom, I’ll also be engaging in extracurricular activities—playing sports, leading art projects, and learning about Ghanaian traditions right alongside the kids!
