This summer I have the opportunity to intern abroad in South Africa! I know this experience will impact both my professional and personal growth, as I become immersed into a culture different than my own. Stepping outside of my comfort zone is a little scary, but excites me as well, and I can't wait to see where this opportunity takes me in the future. 

As long as I'm placed accordingly, I will be working in the field of Public Health and diving hands-on into the community in Cape Town. I'm looking forward to this professional growth, as I participate in a program that I thoroughly enjoy and excel in. 

As many of you know, I had the opportunity to study abroad last summer in France. That experience opened my eyes to a new way of viewing the world and gave me the courage to understand others more openly, as well as myself. Africa has been on my radar to visit for a while now, and when this opportunity emerged, I jumped on it! I feel like this could be another life changing experience and I wouldn't want to pass up another opportunity to live abroad.  I will be there for 12 weeks, and I couldn't be more excited to embark on this journey!
