My Travel Story

My name is Skye MacDonald, I am 25 years old, and was lucky enough to be born with the world's best older sister, Jade.

Jade is 3 years older than me (28) and has been my built-in best friend for as long as I can remember.

We have been through everything together in our lives, including the death of our father, mental illness, and various other things.

However, the most recent thing we have had to deal with is my medical diagnosis.

In the Fall of 2023 I was diagnosed with a desmoid fibromatosis tumour in my left scapula that is the size of a melon. The moment I was diagnosed Jade dropped everything to be there for me, both physically and financially, which I know has been hard on her, but she will never complain.

My sister is the kindest, most selfless being I have ever met, and anyone who knows her knows I am telling the truth.

As a birthday tradition for the last few years, my sister has been paying for us to take a trip for her birthday, as I have not been able to contribute financially.

This year, I want to surprise her by not only being able to pay for the trip, but taking her to her dream destination: Maine.

As my sister's middle name is 'Marine' and she is a pescatarian (only eats seafood) this is her dream destination.

If you are able to donate, or share this fundraiser, it would mean to world to me. If anyone deserves a miracle: it's Jade.

NOTE: She does not know I am doing this, so if you know my sister, or figure out how to contact her, please do not tell her about this. She never gets surprises and I know it would mean more to her if it was a surprise (she also probably wouldn't let me do this...)

  • Cost Cut!

    I was able to cut the cost down again from $3,050 to only $2,993!

    That means we only need to raise $1,843 more!

    Our fundraising total is incorrect! It says we have raised $1,650, but we have only raised $1,150!

    The rest is an accident, and I have to withdraw it and put it back in my bank, as my bank is in the negative. I did not mean to do that!
