My Travel Story

Hello My name is Heather. I am 25 and I have just resigned from a well known clothing company where I was a clothing designer. I have graduted from FIT with a major in Fashion Design and a minor in Sustainability and Ethics.

I am hoping to do more research on sustainable fibers and natural dyes so that I can make a positive impact on the fashion industry and choose to innovate while learning about ancient dye methods that are natural and do not harm the environment. It is important for me to learn in real time from indigineous cultues and local communities so that I can support them and help them to keep their traditions alive. I am aware that many young people who live in traditional societies are fleeing to move into a more modern world. My mission is to help support traditional societies and modernize them so that we can keep their legacies innovative and relevant to support their natural born talents.

With that, I am hoping to raise money as I had no choice but to resign from a job did not allow me to take 5 weeks unpaid off to do this purposeful volunteer work and research.
I know fashion currently has a huge impact on environmental issues in regards to the workers and the chemicals involved. Please donate if you feel so inclined to help me bring awareness to sustainability on my journery in the industry.
