My Travel Story

Welcome to my campaign! My name is Anais and I'm a Computer Information Systems major. I’ve been given the opportunity to study Art this summer abroad in Italy. I never thought to take advantage of study abroad opportunities because of the cost and application process. It had always been just a fantasy to travel outside of the country, especially while in college. Even getting accepted and attending college is an opportunity I’m grateful to have earned. Now that I’ve been accepted, there are a few obstacles remaining. The biggest one being funds. Asking for donations from strangers seems like a weird way to fundraise. It’s hard to believe that we can rely on the kindness of strangers to help us live out once in a lifetime experiences. However, I’ve seen it done before. After the passing of a close relative, my family could rely on the kindness of friends, family from out state, and even strangers to pay for a funeral service. Although I am hesitant to ask for support for an excursion that I chose to take part in, I want to take every chance to increase my possibilities of fulfilling my dream.

Art has played an important role in my life, especially through music and song. More recently though through sculpture and painting. I know that my time in Italy and the time spent exposed to the art culture will be beneficial to the lifestyle I intend to lead. I hope to always surround myself with creativity and art for the rest of my life. And I hope it’ll always remain a deep hobby I can turn to for relaxation, reflection, and peace of mind. 

Accomodation and flight/travel expenses are the only thing I'm fundraising for as I am able to cover all other costs, such as tuition, enrollment deposit, passport expenses, etc. Any extra money will go towards purchasing meals and partaking in activities.
