My Travel Story

Before the tool belt gets hung up for good, or my back finally packs in, I thought that now would be a good time to utilise some of the construction skills I've aquired over the years and put them to some beneficial use. 

So, I'm joining up with some other like minded folk and heading out to a village called Nakuru in Kenya. Hopefully we will be able to assist in some way (albeit very briefly) in the development of a sustainable project which will help the local, and evenutually, the wider community to provide the most basic of facilities and fundamentals that we all take for granted. 

I will be working on the development of either a new school or refurbishing old buildings for a new school.

Some of the pupils & teachers walk 3 hours every day to get to a school, and the teachers are all volunteers. 

I'll also get the opportunity to work with some teachers in a local school teaching kids about sport (no better man) and music adnn european cultures.  

Its part of The Aston Villa Foundation and one that requires some help in order to fund the trip.
