My Travel Story

Please help to make a 78 year old's dream come true.

Can you help with what may be my last big adventure?

Ever since passing the Azores Islands many times, during my younger seagoing days and being fascinated by the beautiful white houses with their red/orange tiled roofs; I have always wanted to go back and visit one of the islands. At the age of 78, even though I am very fit; I realise that my time is getting short and I need to fulfill my dream soon.

I hope to go to one of the islands (Terceira) as soon as Covid-19 restrictions are lifted. Hopefully they will be lifted by August. I plan to walk the full 57 mile circuit of the island over 5 days, with a couple of days to enjoy the local atmosphere and culture. I will be saving hard between now and August and I hope to be able to cover most of the costs myself, but in the event of a shortfall, I may need your assistance with some of the following.

I have my flight to Lisbon and onward to Terceira Island paid for, but would really appreciate some assistance with the following:
Flight from Terceira to Dublin via Lisbon, with SATA Airlines Portugal (€128.73). I will camp most nights and the the many campsites on Terceira are free. However, I would hope to stay in B&B's on arrival and on tthe night before departure. Estimate for 2 nights (€100) Food for 7 days (Estimate €105: i.e. €15 per day). That brings the total to needed to a roughly rounded off figure of €350. All donations no matter how small will be really appreciated.
