My Travel Story

In September this year I will be going to Sri Lanka to volunteer for 8 weeks on a mental health placement with SLV.Global. While I'm there I will be working in a community and providing support to people of all ages who are suffering a range of different mental health difficulties.

This trip will give me an amazing opportunity to put my Psychology degree to good use and to gain hands on experience. Sri Lanka has one of the highest suicide rates in the world and very limited services for people living with mental illness, so it will be extremely rewarding to make a difference in an area that needs it so desperately.

As this placement is voluntary, I will need to raise the funds to pay for the trip. The placement fee is £1700 however this does not include flights, and although I have been working hard to save up on my own, any contributions from friends and family would be amazing and extremely appreciated!
