My Travel Story

I am going to Guatemala to provide medical support to those in need, regardless of their background. This trip will benefit me individually as I build my experience to become a surgeon in the future, and it will also benefit the Guatemalan population in need of medical support, especially those who can't afford some of the more costly treatments. 
I am extremely compassionate about helping people live the happiest and fullest lives possible, which is why I want to support those in need much as possible. I chose Guatemala specifically because I would like to learn Spanish to bridge the language gap in the healthcare system. So many patients in the US struggle to seek medical support because they can't speak Spanish, so it is important that more physicians learn Spanish themselves.
