My Travel Story

Hi All,

This coming March I am going on a volunteer trip to Muzinberg, South Africa for 2 weeks providing care and education for children from disadvantaged backgrounds in South Africa. On this project I will be placed in day care centre attended by children from poor backgrounds and broken homes. Some of the children have lost their parents forcing them to live with their relatives or neighbours, who often do not have the means to take proper care of them. In addition to teaching and caring for these children, I will also be involved in organizing games and activities, and helping with general duties of the centre, including cooking and feeding the children.

This will be an extremely unique and meaningful experience for me because it will be my first time travelling to Africa as well as the first time I will be doing a volunteer project. It's definitely a life-changing opportunity that I wish to take full advantage of. I am very excited to be able to help these children and hopefully have a positive impact in their lives! 

I am so grateful for this opportunity and I will be doing the project through the IVHQ volunteer program. I have paid for all expenses personally (e.g. programme fees, flights, accommodation, vaccinations and all other expenses) However I am fundraising so I can contribute much need resources to the care centre. All donations will be very much appreciated and will help make a great impact on the lives of many.
