My Travel Story

Imagine a line drawn on a map, not by a ruler, but by footsteps. This line starts in the green hills of Slovakia’s Prešov Region, our home, and stretches 1,855 kilometers south, through the echoing Alps, past the crystal lakes of the Balkans, over the ancient fortress of San Marino, to end where the land meets the sea at Italy’s majestic Mount Conero. This is not just a line; it is our dream. We are two 18-year-old friends, and this summer, we have chosen to trade train tickets for boot leather and turn this dream into our first great adventure: walking from Slovakia to Italy.

Why walk? In a world that moves faster than ever, we want to slow down. We want to feel the gradient of every hill, earn every kilometer, and meet Europe not through a bus window, but handshake by handshake, story by story. This journey is our university—a lesson in resilience, culture, and the raw beauty of our continent that you cannot find in any guidebook.

But to make this a reality, we need your support. Our calculated budget of €2,500 will cover the essential gear to protect us from the elements, basic sustenance on the road, occasional hostel beds for much-needed rest and hygiene, and a vital safety net for unexpected situations. In return, we promise to be your eyes and feet. We will document this entire pilgrimage—the stunning vistas, the challenging moments, the fascinating people we meet, and the silent, personal revolutions that happen with every step. Through videos, photos, and writings, we will bring you along, transforming your contribution into a shared adventure.
