Bring Jollibee Joy to the Children of Balut Island
My Travel Story
My name is Melody Arguelles, and I’m reaching out to you with a dream close to my heart. I’m originally from Balut Island, a small but vibrant community located at the southern tip of the Philippines in Sarangani Davao Occidental. Growing up there, I know firsthand the challenges and joys of living in such a remote place. The island is beautiful, but it’s also isolated—an 8-hour boat ride from the nearest city.
For many children on Balut Island, life is simple, and their experiences are limited by our remote location. Many of these kids have never had the chance to visit the city, let alone try the foods that so many Filipino children love. One of the biggest wishes I’ve heard from the children is to try Jollibee, the beloved fast-food chain that’s a staple in the lives of so many Filipinos.
Why This Matters:
For children who have never been to the city, the idea of enjoying a meal at Jollibee is a big deal. It’s not just about the food; it’s about experiencing something new and exciting, something that connects them to the wider world. I want to make that wish come true.
With your support, I plan to organize a Jollibee treat feeding program for the children of Balut Island. This program will bring the joy of Jollibee to them, allowing them to experience the delicious food and fun that so many others have grown up with.

- Jollibee Meals: The funds raised will go directly towards purchasing Jollibee meals for the children. We plan to provide each child with a complete meal, including their famous Chickenjoy, spaghetti, and a dessert.
- Logistics: Getting the food from the city to Balut Island is no small feat. Part of the funds will be used to cover the transportation costs, ensuring that the food arrives fresh and ready to enjoy.
- Community Gathering: The event will be more than just a meal; it will be a community celebration. We plan to host the feeding program in a central location where the children and their families can gather, enjoy the food, and share in the joy.
