My Travel Story

I want to go to Finland for two main reasons-I love beautiful scenery and nature (and Finaldn has a ton of it!) and I have cultural heritage there. 
Ever since I was little, my grandmas house has been filled with little reminders of my ancestory. My ancestors came from kaunis Suomi (beautiful Finland), immigrated to the U.P. of Michigan, and eventually my grandparents moved to lower Michigan. I have learned simple Fnnish phrases, been taught about Finnish customs and 'proper' pronounication (its sOWna not sAWna), and have, fo course, seen Finlandia university. 
Secondly, Finland has loads of beautiful scenery. If you just drive (or take a reindeer sleigh!) just outside any one of Finlands cities, you will be droped into a beautiful landsscape of sprawling nature, whether that be trees coated in heavy snow in winter, or a crystal clear lake. 
I want to go out and actually experience these in person, rather than just reading about them or watching videos. I want to be able to come back to the U.S. and say "That was the best of experience of my life" and then say a slur of Finnish words that I learned there. I want to be able to fulfill what I have only dreamt about.
