My volunteer trip to Thailand!
My Travel Story
My name is Emily and I'm raising money to go to Thailand in July 2017 for a month with Camp Thailand.
In my time there I will be volunteering in a school where I will be teaching the children English and sports. This will be an amazing experience for me as I will gain my TEFL qualification (teaching English as a foreign language), meaning after this trip I will be able to teach English all over the world! It will also hopefully mean that I give the kids a good experience too.
I will also spend some of my time in an elephant sanctuary. Elephants are beautiful animals and the sanctuary work to prevent the mistreatment of them. It will also give me a chance to learn more about them and talk to the residents of the village where the sanctuary is located. Hopefully it will give me a chance to improve my Thai while I'm there and learn more about the culture.
As I am still studying my A Levels this will be my first ever trip to a different country by myself. I'm trying to raise as much money as possible to pay for accomodation and trips while I am there. I am hoping to also do trips to Bankok and Cambodia in my free time where I can experience the lifestyle there and become more independent traveling in Asia. Even though I am raising as much money possible with my part time job, it will not be enough to fund everything so the tiniest donation would make a HUGE difference. I also want to buy toys and books for children at the school and hopefully brighten up their day.
This trip will be the most amazing experience for me as it will give me a chance to help others in the community, the elephants, and it will give me a qualification that I will definitely be making more use of as I get older and further my own knowledge and education.
