My Travel Story

My name is Asia Lee and I'm currently a 4th year design student in San Francisco, California, although for the year 2024, I'm taking a gap year due to burnout as I've lost the motivation to attend school due to my weirdly complicated college experience. As a design student at my institution, it requires me to finish all my GE requirements before I can begin taking any of my major courses, until then, all my Design courses are considered Upper-Division. I switched to this major after my first two years of studying under Studio Art since 2020, so it was a real setback, making it feel as if I've been in high school for the last four years.

My initial goal this year was to travel to four different countries, but due to my financial disadvantages and priorities, I have yet to rest and enjoy this personal break. Despite the fact I work full-time (even overtime), I have yet to reach enough funds to support that dream. It would mean the world to me to leave the States and truly take a break from it all as it would not only help recover from the feeling of burnout and aid my mental health, but also a birthday gift to myself to experience international travel for the first time!
