My Travel Story

by: Jessi Driver Presher Start Date: Feb 23, 2025 - End Date: Mar 4, 2025
My father, Clyde David Driver Jr. Aka Butch, is a proud United States Marine Corps Veteran who enlisted on his 17th birthday, driven by a deep love for his country and a desire to serve others. He has always been a man of strength, courage, and unwavering kindness, but now he needs our help in the fight of his life.

In the beginning of September last year, my father was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, one of the most aggressive and challenging forms of the disease. Despite his determination and the incredible efforts of his medical team, the cancer has taken a devastating toll on his body. After undergoing grueling chemotherapy, his immune system has been severely weakened, and he now weighs only 123 pounds. He sometimes requires oxygen to breathe and is in constant pain from his headaches from the shrapnel in his brain stem from a gunshot wound battle in Vietnam, yet his spirit remains unbroken.

As a 100% disabled Veteran, my father has already given so much for our freedom. Now, we are determined to give him the best chance to fight this disease. We have been referred to MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas, one of the top cancer treatment facilities in the world. We first will go to MUSC in Charleston this week for their opinion Oman's treatment program options. However, the costs of travel, lodging, and medical expenses are overwhelming, and we cannot do this alone.

We are humbly asking for your support to help cover the costs of:
- Travel to and from Houston, Texas
- Lodging during his treatment
- Medical expenses not covered by insurance

Any contribution, no matter how small, will make a tremendous difference in my father’s journey. Your generosity will not only help ease the financial burden but also give him hope and the opportunity to receive the life-saving care he deserves.

My father has always been a fighter—for his country, for his family, and for those he loves. Now, it’s our turn to fight for him. Please consider donating to his campaign and sharing his story with your network. Together, we can give him the chance to continue inspiring us with his strength and love.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your kindness, support, and prayers during this difficult time. Semper Fi!

With gratitude,
Jessi Driver Presher
