Opers Singer Deborah Carter's Return to Weimar
My Travel Story
My name is Deborah Carter and I am an opera singer in training. I am starting this campaign to fund my travel to Weimar, Germany. There, I will be able to be apart of an opera studio and perform throughout many places in Germany. I did this program last year, and it was a great success. The feedback was positive and it confirmed that I can make it in this field of music. I learned a lot in Weimar, but also fell in love with the culture and the people. I cried everyday for a week because the experience touched me and I couldn't bare to leave the city. Weimar became my second home.
The program consist of me performing in a full-production of Strauss' 'Die FLedermaus" I will sing the role of Rosalinde In addition to singing this role, I will be able to work with famous conductors, take german lessons and sing in many concerts in neighboring cities.
I would love to return to Weimar again this summer and sing a leading role with the studio. This is a great opportunity for development of my professional career and also a chance for me to return to a place I left my heart in.
I want to return because I am determined to push myself to grow in order to make a career in opera. Music has always been my passion and I beleive God has blessed me with a tremendous gift.
Any donations would be much appreciated and would help me to accomplish my dream. That dream is to sing. Thank you all!
