My Travel Story

Since youth, I have been obsessed with learning about other cultures and history.  The seed was planted by my mother who exposed my siblings and I to museums, books, and other mediums of learning.  I have always wanted to travel, learn, and immerse myself in multi-cultural communities where I can actively participate real- life cultural exchanges.  This idea was fine, but my interests have expanded!
        I now want my travel to be meaningful and provide a service to others.  My goal is to study and learn about other cultures, so I can create a travel guide for youth in underrepresented communities.  As an educator, I have seen how lack of information, representation, and guidance can limit the potential of students.  Therefore, I want to create a youth friendly travel guide that celebrates multiple cultures from around the world and encourages youths to seek out global opportunities, whether they are for personal travel, study abroad, or culture exchange experiences.
        In order to create my guide (the first step in my plan), I have to experience full cultural immersion, as first-hand experience is the best source of information.  Additionally, making personal connections with local people will be pivotal in helping to create a unique guide that will be appealing to youths/ students. 
        Help me plant seeds of interconnectedness and global citizenry for youths in underrepresented communities in the USA and around the globe!
