My Travel Story
Hello! My name is Sultan Abdulkareem, and I’m reaching out with deep humility and hope. I have been offered the opportunity of a lifetime — the chance to study Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at a top university abroad. But as a young person from Nigeria, where financial hardship is a daily reality, I cannot do this alone.
From a young age, I’ve been driven by a powerful dream: to use science, innovation, and engineering to solve the urgent problems facing my community — from energy poverty and environmental degradation to conflict and healthcare access. I’ve already started building this vision by leading local projects, volunteering in disaster-prone areas, and even developing prototypes like drones for delivering aid and providing surveillance in insecure zones.
This education is more than just a degree — it is my bridge to solutions. With access to advanced labs, world-class mentors, and international collaboration, I will gain the skills and network needed to return home and build clean energy systems, develop tech for disaster response, and train other young innovators across Nigeria and Africa.
I chose this path because I believe Africa doesn’t lack talent — we lack opportunity. If I can break through this barrier, I can pull others up with me.
